Q. What should I expect if I attend a church service and what do people wear?A. We have a general description of each service on the Services area of this website. We have traditional preaching-style services, which are preceeded by doctrinally rich songs and hymns. Most services last an hour and fifteen minutes in total. At the end of every service, an invitation is given, at which time guests and members are welcome to come forward to pray at the altar, or counsel with staff on any issue. Nursery is provided for every service, and children's services are usually available. Most members of Bible Baptist Church wear their "Sunday best" to every service to honor the Lord.
Q. Is it okay to bring my children into the worship service?
A. Yes, it is always okay to keep your children with you, or even to sit and watch their class if you would like. Children's services are usually available, but children are not required to attend them. Wherever you feel most comfortable is fine. Families are a focus at Bible Baptist Church.
Q. How big is Bible Baptist Church?
A. Our attendance Sunday mornings is usually in the 50-60 range.
Q. How long has Bible Baptist Church existed?
A. Pastor Twardy started this work in 1976. More information of the staff of BBC can be found on the About Us section of this website.
Q. What Bible version do you use?
A. We teach and preach only from the King James Bible. Pew Bibles are available for use.
Q. Does "baptist" mean you have to be baptized to go to heaven?
A. No. The only requirement for salvation (heaven) is believeing upon the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary to atone for your sins. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Q. What does "independent, fundamental" mean?
A. We are independent of any other church governing body. No one assigns us a pastor, or tells us what to believe, or which missionaries to support. We make those decisions as a body, and we have a congregational (church vote) polity. Fundamental simply means we hold to the fundamentals fo the faith as set forth in the Bible. We do not use any extra-Biblical books/creeds to base our faith on. For an idea of what we believe, see the Statement of Faith page on this website.
Q. How can I become a member of Bible Baptist Church?
A. Anyone can visit BBC. To become a member, the Bible teaches one must accept Jesus Christ, and follow Christ's example in baptism. To work and serve in a local church, is God's command to all Christians. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
